PAKISTAN PHARMACISTS ASSOCIATION (PPA)

A delegation comprising newly elected PPA centre and Punjab office bearers paid visit to Minister, Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education on 31.03.2023 at Lawrence Road Lahore and discussed issues of Pharmacists related to Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education Department, Punjab.
Prof. Dr. Furqan Khursheed Hashmi, President, PPA Punjab thanked Minister Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education on gracing his patronisation on oath taking ceremony.
Mr. Muhammad Rao Alamgir, General Secretary PPA center presented following points for betterment of profession:-
1- To ensure induction of Pharmacists in all Private Hospitals through Punjab Healthcare Commission
2- Monitoring of availability of Pharmacists in all Private Hospitals through surprised visits of Punjab Healthcare Commission,
3- Permission to carry out Pharmacy Practices as envisaged under DRAP ACT 2012 in all Pharmacies in Punjab;
4- Digitization and Revamping of Pharmacy Council;
5- Mechanism for paid internship in all teaching hospitals for fresh Pharm-D graduates;
6- Creation of new seats of Clinical Pharmacists and Pharmacovogilance Officers in all teaching hospitals;
7. Establishment of Drug Information and Poison Centers in all teaching hospitals;
8. On job training of Pharmacists in teaching hospitals;
9. Job security of ad-hoc Pharmacists working in teaching hospitals;
10. increasing of loan for graduate Pharmacists from Punjab Health Foundation;
The PPA is thankful to the Minister, Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education Department for giving patient listening to the visiting delegation and assuring all out support for betterment of Pharmacy Services in Punjab.
