International course announcement for Rational Medicines Use & Medical Supply Management
Given the importance of medicines as one of the building blocks for health systems, UWC Winter School please to offer two new medicines courses in 2014. Each one-week course will be facilitated by staff from the Schools of Public Health and Pharmacy at UWC, in collaboration with several high profile international and local partners including Dr Richard Laing (formerly of WHO: Essential Medicines and now at University of Boston, USA), Management Sciences for Health and with input from local and national colleagues from the Department of Health and NGOs. The courses are targeted at health care professionals, including pharmacists, doctors and nurses involved in medicines use and management and will employ a combination of theoretical input and participatory, interprofessional learning methods including presentations, small group work, case study analysis and prescribed and optional readings.
